There comes a time in almost every diet plan where you find yourself sitting in a fast food establishment – or, as the case may be, frantically going through the drive-thru as you rush off to whatever else your day may bring.

As you do this, anxiety starts to build in your stomach. You've been doing so well on your diet and now you are about to ruin it in one fell swoop.

It's no secret that most fast food menu items are loaded with fat, refined carbs, and calories, and are the opposite of what a healthy diet should be.

That said, if you are willing to put in a little extra effort, you can uncover hidden nutritional gems in a fast food restaurant that won't cause too much damage to your diet plan.

Always remember, eating light when dining out is essential. You're far better off going for a light meal now and then simply adding more to your next meal – which you can prepare yourself – to make up for it.

Let's look at how to eat right when dining fast food at a few different types of establishments.

The Burger Place

Perhaps the most commonly frequented fast food restaurants are burger joints. Be it McDonald's, Harvey's, Burger King or otherwise, one thing is certain and that is there is no shortage of high calorie options.

Most burgers easily come in at 500+ calories and if you plan to add a side of fries to that, tack on another 600 or more. This makes for a meal that, for many people, is well over half of your daily food intake.

The solution? Get smart. Most burger restaurants will have a grilled chicken burger option, so start there. Order your grilled chicken and then request it with no mayonnaise or 'special sauce' (Hint: Never trust the 'special sauce').

If you're on a low carb diet, you might consider removing half the bun from this sandwich, or forgoing the bread altogether and getting that chicken on top of a salad (if they don't have a chicken salad option in the first place).

If you feel like you need something that contains potato, avoid French fries at all costs. There's simply no way to make these healthier.

Instead, opt for a baked potato (if they have one) and top it with some salsa rather than traditional high fat source cream or butter.

If you opt for these choices, you'll be eating wisely.

The Taco Joint

Moving on, you might find yourself stopping at a taco or burrito place. While a bit less common than a burger place, these definitely have no shortage of locations as well.

Here, the first tip is to opt for one type of 'shell' only. Don't do a soft shell in a hard shell. That's just double the calories, double the carbs, and double the fats.

If you can, choose a softer shell. Hard shells have been fried and so, have more unwanted fats.

Next, opt for grilled chicken over beef or steak for your meat filling or, if you prefer, try some beans instead. Beans are a much lower fat option and will give you a good dose of fiber as well.

As you top that taco or burrito, keep the sour cream off. It's high in saturated fat and provides no real nutrition. Instead, try guacamole if it's offered. Request them to only put on a little, but feel good since it's a healthier form of fat that your body needs.

Finally, be sure that you only eat one. Don't go in for two or more, even if the price seems right. One is more than enough to fuel you until you can get to a healthier meal.

The Pizza House

The next place you might find yourself stopping is the pizza house. The smell of freshly baked pizza is like none other, and you may be tempted to pick up the most delicious looking slice you can find.

Instead, try and seek out a thin crust pizza. This alone can save you at least a hundred calories per slice, if not more. The thinner the base, the better.

Then, watch your toppings. Try choosing the vegetarian pizza which will be lower in fat and calories than beef or pepperoni.

And, the more vegetables on your slice, the better.

Apart from these choices, you won't be able to alter much else on your pizza as in the fast food restaurant, it'll already be prepared and waiting for you.

If you find yourself in a sit-down pizza house, then you can request that they use much less cheese, which will reduce the fat and sodium content.

The Coffee Shop

The coffee shop is another place you may frequent. Whether it's first thing in the morning or a quick stop-off as you go about your day, cafés and coffee shops are often our most convenient option when hunger strikes.

So, what will you order?

First, steer clear of anything baked or deep fried. Donuts, muffins, croissants – all bad news as far as your diet is concerned.

Also, ditch the bagels. Bagels are simply too high in carbohydrates to be considered a 'light' meal option. Unless you have an intense workout planned for later in the day, you just don't need that many carbs.

Going in for a freshly prepared sandwich can be one option here and from there, you might consider only eating half of it at once. Choose one that comes on wholegrain bread and is light on mayonnaise to keep the fat content down. Turkey and chicken are both great sandwich options, but do steer clear of tuna or egg salad. These are also going to be prepared with plenty of high fat mayonnaise, so won't do your diet proud.

As an alternative option to a sandwich, you might go in for a broth-based soup. These are often served at coffee shops and can be a great way to fill that hunger void for the time being.

Be it chicken noodle, vegetable or minestrone soup, all will provide just a few hundred calories.

Finally, a word must be mentioned about your coffee selection. If you are getting a drink, make it as simple as possible. Many of the gourmet coffee varieties today are nothing short of dessert in a cup and will pack in far too many calories, along with grams of sugar and fat.

Opt for a plain black coffee and add a little cinnamon and sweetner to it as desired. Herbal or green teas are also fantastic options. Being smart about how you hydrate is just as important as choosing the right foods to eat.

The Sub Stop

Sub sandwich's pride themselves on being the healthier alternative to the burger and in most cases they are. You do, however, still need to be careful about how you order.

First, don't go in for that foot-long sub. A half sub (typically a 6 inch) is more than enough for just about everyone.

Next, choose whole wheat bread. You will be taking in quite a bit of carbs at this meal, so the least you can do is make sure that it is going to provide some fiber as well.

Next, opt for some lean meats – chicken breast, turkey are all quite good options. Steer clear of meatball subs, steak and cheese subs, or any sort of mayo based salad sub. Those will all contain too many fat and calories to be considered healthy.

When choosing condiments, stick to mustard. It's your best bet to keep the calorie intake down and ensure that you aren't taking in any unwanted saturated fat.

Load that sub up with as many fresh vegetables as possible. One great thing about a sub restaurant is that they typically make it right in front of you, so you can easily request more vegetables than average.

So there you have some quick tips to remember as you find yourself in a fast food restaurant. There's no question that it's not the most ideal situation to be in if healthy eating is important to you, but this said, it doesn't need to completely derail your diet and lead to weight gain.

You just need to be smart in your approach and practice moderation in serving size with whatever you choose to eat.

Create Rules For Your Life That Serve You Well

Having rules that govern your life, behavior, and choices might seem confining and restrictive. But there's a profound freedom that comes from living by a set of rules that you've chosen for yourself. You can refrain from toiling over as many decisions. You simply follow your own rules.

Suppose you had the rule that you're never going to lie to your partner. Then you never have to fight with yourself about whether or not to tell the truth. You simply tell the truth and get on with life.

Develop your own set of rules for each aspect of your life. Rules provide the framework for having a more productive and stress-free life.

This example can guide you in creating a unique set of rules for your own life:

1. I always go to bed and get up at times that provide me with the opportunity to get a minimum of 8 hours of sleep.

2. I refrain from checking email before 10 AM or after 4 PM.

3. I refuse to answer the phone when I'm spending time with my family.

4. I tell everyone in my family that I love them at least once per day.

5. I accept full responsibility for all outcomes in my life, both good and bad.

6. I read a minimum of 30 minutes per day.

7. I speak to all of my friends at least once each month.

8. I meditate every night for 10 minutes before I go to sleep.

9. Before bed, I make a list of the most important items to complete the following day.

And so on.

Each week, we all make choices that result in guilty or remorseful feelings. But we also make tough decisions that we know are correct. Having a list of rules for your behavior makes it easier to make wise decisions with less mental turmoil.

Your rules can move you closer to your goals, as well as remove frustration from your life.

Follow these tips to develop your own rules:

1. Make a list of your most important goals. It's helpful to have goals related to your finances, health, family, and personal accomplishments. If you know your goals, you can develop rules that support them.

2. What are your values? When you're behaving in a manner that's congruent with your values, you'll be much happier and more successful.

3. What obstacles stand in your way? How do you waste time? What are your weaknesses? Rules that eliminate or minimize the challenges in your life are worthwhile.

4. What example do you want to set for your children? If you have children, what do you want them to see when they watch you? They're always watching, even if you think they aren't.

Most of us are striving for a greater degree of freedom, and rules seem like a limit to freedom. However, you free up a lot of mental resources when you make important decisions beforehand. If your rule is to exercise every day, then you can avoid having to spend 20 minutes deciding whether or not to exercise. You just do it.

Take the time to make your own set of rules. The number doesn't matter. Start with a couple and add more as you see fit. Make some rules for yourself in order to set yourself free.

Where bed space may cost you 500-800 AED and Room will be costing 1500 AED minimum per Month, Deira is one of the cheap and easy approachable area in the city on DUBAI. The Bed space/Room's advertisements can be seen in Newspapers or Office Notice boards or at time by the shop keepers as well.

 

Tips for the Interview 

  • Be formal every day from day 1 so if anybody call you for interview you can visit them immediately, buckle up (carry a Bag to keep coat, tie, camera or Stuff in it)
  • Best time to visit UAE will be from Mid January to April
  • Keep in mind the expected salary (what you want Minimum for you to live in)
  • You may Know the terminology of "Free Zone Area" and "Free Zone Visa"
  • Keep a Note pad to note key words asked in the Interview(so you can Google it later on)
  • Practice your formal introduction while walking towards home or bus stop
  • Before every interview think that this is the last option and you have to perform the best
  • After every interview think that this was not the last interview

If you get Offer for Job(Ask your employer)

  • Who will be paying the employment Visa fee?
  • You should know the salary break down in details
  • Performance appraisal process, how and when they evaluate to revise salary
  • Ask about the Leaves and Annual leaves, included the leave encashment
  • Some of the Companies also offer you the Airfare Annually
  • What if you have to travel back to your native country in emergency?

Key Points to keep in mind

  • Carry copy of your visa anywhere you go
  • Keep you expectation really low, so that unless you achieve something you will be flying really low
  • Smart phone smartness, Get 3G enabled use data and Battery intelligently so it may last till day end.
  • Configure your email ID on the phones(Gmail, yahoo or Hotmail account so you can email your CV any point of time if required)
  • Have a tight Breakfast every day
  • Plan and memories locations(while going somewhere you need to plan what will be the way back home)
  • Keep a note book every time you travel(to note the important points and Ideas)
  • Google maps should be used for searching the addresses
  • Spend 1-2 hours in the night on job applications, visit those portal regularly
  • Metro Card/Means of Transportation/Bus stop Map(Get the Metro train card in first few days)
  • De-Hydration recovery(Keep water bottle with you all the time, try to refill ASAP)
  • Be Optimistic/feel lucky(things work accordingly as you trust yourself and All Mighty)

[HM:258325] The Right Way to Hold People Accountable

John* was doing his best to be calm, but his frustration was palpable. Jeanine was explaining that there was little chance her group was going to make the numbers for this quarter. "Honestly?" she said. "The numbers weren't realistic to begin with. It was really unlikely that we were going to make them."

That's when John lost it. "You agreed to the numbers in our budget meeting! You came up with them!"

Jeanine was silent for a while. Then she stammered out a weak defense that John promptly tore apart. Later, when John and I were debriefing the conversation, he asked me a question that I have heard countless times from countless leaders.

"How do I get my people to be more accountable for results?"

Accountability is not simply taking the blame when something goes wrong. It's not a confession. Accountability is about delivering on a commitment. It's responsibility to an outcome, not just a set of tasks. It's taking initiative with thoughtful, strategic follow-through.

And it's necessary at all levels of the hierarchy. Executives high on the org chart can't really be accountable unless the people who report to them also follow through on their commitments. This a struggle, of course. I have seen leaders direct, question, and plead. I have seen them yell, act passive-aggressively, and throw up their hands in frustration — all in the service of "holding people accountable."

None of that works. Getting angry with people when they fall short is not a productive process for holding people accountable. It almost always reduces motivation and performance.

So what can we do to foster accountability in the people around us? We need to aim for clarity in five areas:

  1. Clear expectations. The first step is to be crystal clear about what you expect. This means being clear about the outcome you're looking for, how you'll measure success, and how people should go about achieving the objective. It doesn't all have to come from you. In fact, the more skilled your people are, the more ideas and strategies should be coming from them. Have a genuinely two-way conversation, and before it's over, ask the other person to summarize the important pieces — the outcome they're going for, how they are going to achieve it, and how they'll know whether they're successful — to make sure you're ending up on the same page. Writing out a summary is a good idea but doesn't replace saying it out loud.
  2. Clear capability. What skills does the person need to meet the expectations? What resources will they need? If the person does not have what's necessary, can they acquire what's missing? If so, what's the plan? If not, you'll need to delegate to someone else. Otherwise you're setting them up for failure.
  3. Clear measurement. Nothing frustrates leaders more than being surprised by failure. Sometimes this surprise is because the person who should be delivering is afraid to ask for help. Sometimes it comes from premature optimism on both sides. Either way, it's completely avoidable. During the expectations conversation, you should agree on weekly milestones with clear, measurable, objective targets. If any of these targets slip, jump on it immediately. Brainstorm a solution, identify a fix, redesign the schedule, or respond in some other way that gets the person back on track.
  4. Clear feedback. Honest, open, ongoing feedback is critical. People should know where they stand. If you have clear expectations, capability, and measurement, the feedback can be fact-based and easy to deliver. Is the person delivering on her commitments? Is she working well with the other stakeholders? If she needs to increase her capability, is she on track? The feedback can also go both ways — is there something you can be doing to be more helpful? Give feedback weekly, and remember it's more important to be helpful than nice.
  5. Clear consequences. If you've been clear in all of the above ways, you can be reasonably sure that you did what's necessary to support their performance. At this point, you have three choices: repeat, reward, or release. Repeat the steps above if you feel that there is still a lack of clarity in the system. If the person succeeded, you should reward them appropriately (acknowledgement, promotion, etc.). If they have not proven accountable and you are reasonably certain that you followed the steps above, then they are not a good fit for the role, and you should release them from it (change roles, fire them, etc.).

These are the building blocks for a culture of accountability. The magic is in the way they work together as a system. If you miss any one, accountability will fall through that gap.

I've found that it's useful to make this list public and to discuss it with the people you're asking to be accountable before there's a specific project on the line.

When I explained all of this to John, it was easy for him to identify the gaps in his communication with Jeanine. His expectations were clear, but her capability was lacking, which they had never addressed. Once they'd spoken about the gap, he could support her development with coaching while also reviewing her milestones more frequently. That gave him the data he needed to give her clear and timely feedback.

Remember the question we started with, the one that plagues so many leaders: "How do I get my people to be more accountable for results?"

Now there's an answer: It depends. Which of the five areas have you neglected?

  1. Exercise. Believe me, they've helped me many days with my perspective. If you have to work out, then go take a brisk walk and get that blood flowing. It isn't about working out to lose weight -- it's about being healthy and staying sane.
  2. Eat the real stuff. Crappy food (fast, processed, and loaded with sugar) doesn't help your chemical brain and body handle stress. Living food, real food, helps support your mind and body while it's trying to deal with the million things coming its way. Every time I reach for the chocolate, I'm looking to feel something from it. Don't get me wrong -- if it's just a little here and there because I enjoy the taste of it, great. But if I'm using it the minute I feel overwhelmed, then that's when that food is no longer OK to eat. It doesn't make the problem go away, and then I just feel bad about eating the food to pacify myself. Grab green food instead. Put things in your mouth that are going to support your immune function and keep you levelheaded.
  3. Notice. Try not to let the stress overtake you. Recognize the situations that cause the stress and notice them coming your way. You have a better shot at fending off the full effects of the stress when you can anticipate it.
  4. Get it off your chest. Talk to a friend or partner about the stress. Sometimes just getting it off your chest can help unload some of the burden. 
  5. Keep your sense of humor. If you do have the chance to talk about it, try to see the irony and humor in the wacky bits. I think someone is dead in the water once they lose their sense of humor.
  6. Stay grateful. My daughter has large lungs and verbal skills she likes to display. Just when I start to wishfully think about her being quiet, I remind myself to be grateful that she can talk to me at all. In almost all of our problems are boatloads of blessings. "Oh, I don't feel like going to the gym."  Well, Amen that you have the means and the health to even be able to wrestle with the idea of going to work out. Make a habit of saying thank you. You will notice the sunny spots a lot more often, and not just the gray skies and storms.
  7. Ask, "What's the hurry?"  Have some fun. We're always so busy going somewhere, we miss just enjoying the moment. If an opportunity comes your way to do something fun, take it.
  8. Take a deep breath. When you feel the stress getting to you, take a moment. Get away, even if it's just for an hour, to be with yourself and your thoughts. Some people like to take a walk, meditate, lock themselves away in a beautiful bath, or go to church. Find the peace and the silence.
  9. Keep it simple. Simplify where you can. Does Junior really need to be in 78 activities at the age of 5?  Do you have to go to every little party or gathering you're invited to?
  10. Sleep. If you're rested, you have a better shot at handling things. Not to mention, you may not stress out as easily if you have a chance to recover at night.
  11. Drink water. I have said it before: Americans consume 21 percent of their calories through liquid consumption. Hydrate with water. Help you entire system function better just by drinking enough water. Oh, and by the way, if you don't think that weight loss and proper hydration have a relationship, think again. Shift the paradigm on its side -- don't think about exercise and nutritional eating just as something you have to suffer through to get into those jeans. Instead, think of them as armor that will protect you in this crazy world, with all of the bazillion details you deal with every day

Traveling internationally was an experience of life as I grounded Sharjah airport, I was amazed to see bulk of immigrants (Jordanian, Indians, Egyptians, Philippines, Chinese & Pakistani etc) from all over the world waiting to enter the city after completing all the verification done. All going through my mind was to take care of my luggage and as my mom said not to talk to stranger. As I came out, my friend was there to pick me and we drove home. First thing I did was to change my cellular network Sim card, already purchased by my friend for me week ago.

As anyone of them can be a match turner for you because of their social circle and activeness. Bed space means you will be living with some 3-5 other people in the same room and sharing the same washroom :P. Where bed space may cost you 500-800 AED and Room will be costing 1500 AED minimum per Month, Deira is one of the cheap and easy approachable area in the city on DUBAI. The Bed space/Room's advertisements can be seen in Newspapers or Office Notice boards or at time by the shop keepers as well.

 

Tips for the Interview 

  • Be formal every day from day 1 so if anybody call you for interview you can visit them immediately, buckle up (carry a Bag to keep coat, tie, camera or Stuff in it)
  • Best time to visit UAE will be from Mid January to April
  • Keep in mind the expected salary (what you want Minimum for you to live in)
  • You may Know the terminology of "Free Zone Area" and "Free Zone Visa"
  • Keep a Note pad to note key words asked in the Interview(so you can Google it later on)
  • Practice your formal introduction while walking towards home or bus stop
  • Before every interview think that this is the last option and you have to perform the best
  • After every interview think that this was not the last interview

If you get Offer for Job(Ask your employer)

  • Who will be paying the employment Visa fee?
  • You should know the salary break down in details
  • Performance appraisal process, how and when they evaluate to revise salary
  • Ask about the Leaves and Annual leaves, included the leave encashment
  • Some of the Companies also offer you the Airfare Annually
  • What if you have to travel back to your native country in emergency?

  • Keep you expectation really low, so that unless you achieve something you will be flying really low
  • Smart phone smartness, Get 3G enabled use data and Battery intelligently so it may last till day end.
  • Configure your email ID on the phones(Gmail, yahoo or Hotmail account so you can email your CV any point of time if required)
  • Have a tight Breakfast every day
  • Plan and memories locations(while going somewhere you need to plan what will be the way back home)
  • Keep a note book every time you travel(to note the important points and Ideas)
  • Google maps should be used for searching the addresses
  • Spend 1-2 hours in the night on job applications, visit those portal regularly
  • Metro Card/Means of Transportation/Bus stop Map(Get the Metro train card in first few days)
  • De-Hydration recovery(Keep water bottle with you all the time, try to refill ASAP)
  • Be Optimistic/feel lucky(things work accordingly as you trust yourself and All Mighty)

[HM:258321] Story: The Dry Cleaner: First Impression On Your New Customers

Today, a story about my local dry cleaner.

(Yes, I know. Stay with me here.)

Not long after we moved to a new neighborhood about 8 months ago, we had a pile of clothes that needed to be dry cleaned.

The problem was that my previous dry cleaner was far enough away to make getting there and back on a regular basis a hassle.

And, to be honest, I was never that excited about going there anyway.

So I did a quick search on Yelp, and was a little bit surprised by what I found.

A local cleaner—only a few blocks from me—stood out from the rest of the list in a big way. Not only did they have 4.5 stars (something I've never seen for a business like dry cleaning… who gets that excited about pressed shirts?), but they had more than a few raving reviews!

Intrigued, I walked over there that very afternoon to drop off my clothes, and was hit with my first pleasant surprise as I walked through the front door.

"Good afternoon", said the smiling man behind the counter. "How are you doing today?"

Not exactly the welcome I was used to.

I greeted him and put my clothes on the counter.

"I don't recognize you," he said, still smiling. "Is this your first time here?"

It was, I told him. I was new to the neighborhood.

"How exciting! Welcome. And thank you very much for coming by. I really appreciate it, and I'll take good care of your clothes for you."

Within a minute of entering the store, I was having a conversation with a guy who felt like an old friend, and who, more than simply wanting my business, wanted to make sure I was comfortably settling into my new home.

Soon after, he printed my receipt and handed it to me, pointing to a line toward the bottom showing a 10% discount.

"To thank you for being a new customer. See you soon."

The Power Of A Magical First Impression

When I walked out of that dry cleaner that day, I was sold.

I was going to be a loyal, long-term customer.

Now, of course the work had to be good. And it was.

But I don't have the knowledge or expertise to know if their dry cleaning is any better than the work done by the dozen other cleaners in my neighborhood.

And, I suspect, neither do most of their customers.

But the way that they made me feel on that first visit—like they genuinely cared about me and my clothes—is what is going to keep me coming back.

I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.

I've since learned that these dry cleaners are not the cheapest in the area. Nor are they necessarily the most convenient for me (there's another less than two blocks away from my house).

But I'm still a loyal and happy customer.

And a lot of it has to do with that first impression.

3 Ways To Leave A Lasting First Impression On Your Customers

It would be a mistake to think that the first impression in this story was all about the 10% discount.

It's not about the discount, and simply offering a discount is NOT going to accomplish what we're after here.

A magical first impression is about recognizing that the customer has a choice, and showing genuine appreciation that they chose you.

A great first impression makes them feel brilliant for making the choice to do business with you.

That doesn't have to mean any sort of grand gestures; my story certainly didn't have any.

Below are five ways you can create a lasting first impression that will keep your customers coming back for more, and more, and more…

1) A Personal Note

When someone signs up for your service or buys from you, sending a heartfelt, personal note is a great way to make it clear how grateful you are for their business.

And if it comes from an actual person (it should!), it can also go a long way in beginning to build a personal relationship with that customer.

People strive, throughout life, to build strong personal characters, traits that reflect their purpose, passions, and values. Yet, as people who would like to build a strong character, we find it difficult. The difficulty lies in our resistance to the very circumstances that would lead us to grow.

This article will provide insights into the following questions: How does character differ from conduct? How does personal character lead to the growth of spiritual character? Why is a strong character important? How can we build a strong and lasting character that will have a positive influence on the lives of others as well as our own life?

How does character differ from conduct?

Simply stated, character lies within us, and conduct is action reflecting our inner qualities and level of development. Consider the following quotes by theologian E.M. Bounds:

"Conduct is what we do; character is what we are.

Conduct is the outward life; character is the life unseen, hidden within, yet evidenced by that which is seen.

Conduct is external, seen from without; character is internal--operating within.

Character is the state of the heart; conduct is its outward expression.

Character is the root of the tree; conduct is the fruit it bears."

How does personal character lead to the growth of spiritual character?

Character, as we usually think of it, is a temporary collection of personality traits that we develop during our time on earth. We build character with each choice, and it reflects our deepest values through our actions. Our personality, with all of its brain-stored character traits will end when our physical life is completed.

At the spiritual level, we have a much broader character that can also grow; and, unlike the character of human personality, it can continue to grow stronger eternally. It is by handling the challenges of life in ways that make character strong, that we also grow
stronger spiritually.

Why is a strong character important?

A strong character in daily life is a positive influence upon others. However, our character also influences our own lives, often unseen, moment by moment, for our inner state determines our actions, attitudes, and ultimate growth.

Emerson once wrote, "The force of character is cumulative." He was referring not only to the influence of character upon others, but of the expansion created in one's own spirit—in that "state of the heart" that E. M. Bounds mentioned. The development of personal character allows for the development of spiritual character. Our spiritual character can also become a lasting character if we accept the invitation to learn.

How can we build a strong and lasting character?

Here are ten examples of actions that build a strong and lasting character...

1. Practice patience when those around you are hurried.

2. Act with faith and diligence when others show mistrust or lack of commitment.

3. Be gentle when you meet with cruelty and harsh temperament.

4. Be courteous, even when others do not show courtesy.

5. Give generously to those who have nothing to give.

6. Communicate peace to those who are saddened or anxious.

7. Express gratitude for every experience and person you have known.

8. Act with self-control when dealing with those who are out of control.

9. Be encouraging to those who are discouraged.

10. Act with self-discipline, even when it is difficult to take correct actions.

This list could continue. The necessary actions will be different for each individual and will present some very important feedback for his or her inner work.

These actions may often seem very difficult. Their level of difficulty for each of us is a reflection—for our benefit—of our inner level of character development. The situations in which these actions are called for are those situations we must experience as continuing changes and challenges designed to teach us about ourselves. They invite us to begin to develop traits such as patience, faith, generosity, gratitude, and self-control. As we begin to allow these qualities to unfold within the heart, our conduct will naturally reflect outwardly those inner qualities.

[HM:258318] Story: Rich at Heart

 Once, a lady with her family was staying in a 3-star hotel for a picnic. She was the mother of a 6 month old baby.
"Can I get 1 cup of milk?" asked the lady to the 3-star hotel manager.
"Yes madam", he replied.
"But it will cost 100 bucks". "No problem", said the lady.
While driving back from hotel, the child was hungry again.
They stopped at a road side tea stall and took milk from the tea vendor
"How much?" she asked the tea vendor.
"Madam, we don't charge money for kid's milk", the old man said with a smile.
"Let me know if you need more for the journey". The lady took one more cup and left.
She wondered, Who's richer? The hotel manager or the old tea vendor?

​Who is poor?
A wealthy woman goes to a boutique and tells the boy at the counter "Please show some cheap suit. It is my son's marriage and I have to give to my maid."
After sometime, the maid comes to the boutique  shop and tells the boy at the counter "Please show some expensive suits. I want to gift my Mistress on her son's marriage"
Poverty is in the mind or in the purse?

Sometimes, in the race for more money, we forget that we are all humans. Let's help someone in need, without expecting something in return. It will make us feel better than what money can.​
