These shoes aren't made for walking: The incredible eight-inch heels which will give you very sore toes
Just for show? Christian Louboutin's latest heeled ballet pumps are sure to create sore toes
Christian Louboutin might be renowned for his killer heels but his latest piece of footwear fashion might be best left on the shelf to merely admire.
Inspired by a prima ballerina's most important accessory, the French designer created the pumps to raise money for the English National Ballet.
The eight-inch heels feature Louboutin's trade mark red soles and are studded with Swarovski crystals.
The 47-year-old's masterpiece is on display in the Shoes For Show €" The Sculptural art of High Heels exhibition in Brick Lane, East London.
And he said of the slipper: 'Isn't the classical dancing ballet slipper the ultimate heel'?
'The heel which makes dancers closer than any other women to the sky, to heaven?' The Sun reported.
Other artists showing at the exhibition include British Fashion Awards winner Nicholas Kirkwood, whose heeled artwork is titled Alice in Wonderland Heels.
He adorned his pumps with red roses, silver chains and tiny tea pots for effect.
While designer Rupert Sanderson displays his strappy gold footwear titled For Verdi's Aida at the Royal Opera House.
He was influenced by Greek mythology when he created the extravagant design.
Alexander McQueen also showcased a miniature snakeskin textured heel, which wouldn't even fit the smallest of feet.
Such artistic heels have become famed by celebrities such as Beyoncé, who wore bespoke Gareth Pugh heels in her music video Run the World (Girls) - which are also on display at the exhibition.
The Shoes for Show €" The Sculptural art of High Heels exhibition is on at The Loading Bay, London E1 6QL, until November 8 2011. Admission free.
