[HM:258389] Are You Your Own Best Friend?

Thriving Through Adversity

Have you faced difficult times in your life?  Have there been times when life or circumstances just didn't seem fair? Have you struggled just to survive at times?  Have you felt like you are all alone?  Have you felt like the pain would never end? These feelings and these pains are real.  You need to acknowledge them and feel the emotions.  You may need to cry or scream or kick things.  That is ok…just do it and then let it go!  And that is the hard part…letting go, moving on, getting past it.  Our ego mind likes to keep us engaged and angry or getting back.

The problems arise when you stay stuck in that place and can't find your way out.   I have found that people cripple themselves or limit themselves with old thoughts and beliefs that no longer serve them yet they still stay stuck.  If you don't step back and recognize the fact that you are stuck…you won't be able to move forward in life.  It is all about looking in the mirror to see what you are unconsciously doing to yourself and then making a conscious decision to face the other direction.

It is all about changing your thoughts, feelings and emotions because what you think, feel and believe will become your reality every single time without exception.  Clients ask me if you have to fake it until you make it.  You can look at it that way if that is the only way you can get out of your hole but I prefer to look at it a little differently.  I choose to start focusing on and finding what is right in my life.  Instead of wallowing in pain and what is wrong or who did what…I slowly start to turn to face the other direction by finding what is right…even if it is small.  One baby step at a time will get you to where you want to go. Finding things to be grateful for every moment of every day.  What is right?  What is good?

11 Great Ways to Reduce Stress

The reality of it is, you have to learn to become your own support system as no-one else will do it for you.  When facing tough times or uncertainty, you have to learn to turn off or shut down that part of your mind I call the ego which is where fear, worry, anxiety and sadness reside.  You instead need to begin to follow your internal barometer…which is deep within your heart. it is different way of thinking and being.

36 Amazing Tips for Great Life

The good news is the pain is there for a very good reason. Every pain you experience will give you more strength.  You truly do gain from pain.  Think about it, most of us don't want change or tend to go to self-help books or workshops when in joy and bliss.  So when you face adversity or uncertainty…see it as a gift.  It is a time for growth and expansion.  This is when you will grow the most. Don't resist it…cry if you need to, mourn or stomp and throw things if it helps.  But once you have acted out, just release it and begin to turn to healing and moving forward and not staying stuck in your grief or problem. It is a wakeup call for you and you are the only one that can control this.  You are the only one that can make a choice to move forward.  It's not about saying when I get there…I will have peace or I will have happiness.   There is no waiting…it is all about choosing to thrive today, in this moment.

9 Rules for Staying Positive

You don't have to feel disconnected or numbness. You don't have to get to the point where you say…" I have this terrible life…but I don't see options so I will put up with it."  What we all deeply want is to feel good.  We just want to be happy.  We just want to feel good inside…to be happy inside with peace of mind.  It is available right now.  For every single one of you.  You just have to choose it. Make a conscious decision to choose happiness and peace of mind right now in this moment.  It is about changing your belief system, how you think, how you feel and most importantly how you talk to your self every single day.  Make a commitment to yourself to go through this life as your own best friend.

[HM:258388] Improve iPhone Battery Life With These Top Tips - UPDATED

Improve iPhone Battery Life

If you want to get the best out of your iPhone and improve iPhone battery life, we have some handy top  tips that will help you maximize your iPhone battery.

There are a number of things that can drain the battery life, if your follow our tips you will be able to improve your iPhone battery life and get the best out of your device.

Improve iPhone Battery Life

The first thing that your should do is check what apps or services are using up most of your battery life on your iPhone, this can be done by going to Settings > Battery, under the Battery Percentage settings you will see 'Battery Usage', this provides a list of the apps and features that have been using your battery and will show you a percentage of what each app is using over the last 24 hours and also over the last week.

1. Turn down the screen brightness on your iPhone

turn down screen brightness

This might seem like an obvious one, but if you are using your iPhone on full brightness then this could use up your battery much quicker than if you ran it on 50 percent brightness. Turning down the brightness to around 50% or even 25% percent could make some significant improvements on your battery life.

This can be done by going to Settings > Display & Brightness and then reducing the brightness to what you think will work for you. If you find a level of brightness that works for you, then you could turn off the auto brightness feature as this adjusts the handsets brightness based on the lighting around you.

2. Turn off background app refresh to help improve iPhone battery life

background app refresh

One feature in the latest versions of Apple's iOS that is worth looking at turning off is Background app refresh. This can be done by going to Settings > General > Background App Refresh.

There are two options that you can use here, you can turn the Background App Refresh feature off for each individual app you have installed on your iPhone, or you can turn the feature off completely, so none of the app refresh in the background.

The second method of turning off the feature completely so that none of the apps refresh is the one I use and this will help you increase the battery life on your handset to get the most out of your iPhone.

3. Improve iPhone battery life by turning off notifications

iPhone notifications

If you are running a lot of apps on your iPhone and have notifications on for all of them, this can significantly use your battery, constant notifications from multiple apps will have a negative effect on your iPhone's battery, editing which ones send notifications can help improve battery life on your device.

I tend to turn off notifications for the majority of the applications I use, the ones I keep on are for things like email, text messagse and generally a few other apps that I want notifications from.

You can choose by each app that you have installed on whether you want to receive notifications from that application, this can be done by going to Settings > Notifications and then choosing the app that you want to change the settings on, this is a great way of saving power on your iPhone and increasing your battery life.

4. Change your email settings from Push to Fetch

Push mail settings

If your email is set to Push and you receive a lot of emails every day then this can use up a lot of your iPhone's battery life, one way around this is to change from Push email to Fetch email, this allows you to choose an interval where your iPhone will check for new emails.

By using the Fetch feature rather than Push, you can choose to let your iPhone retrieve your emails on a regular basis, you can choose to have them fetched every 15 minutes, 30 minutes or hourly. There is also another option, you can choose to Fetch your emails manually, this will happen when you open your email map, then latest emails will then be downloaded to your device when you run the Mail app.

In order to change your email settings from Push to Fetch, you need to go to Settings > Mail, Contact, Calendars > Fetch New Data, you can then choose either Fetch or Push and the time interval you want to use. This is really helpful if you get a lot of emails, even if you set Fetch to get your email every 15 minutes, it should be better than you receiving emails every few minutes.

5. Connect to WiFi wherever possible to improve iPhone battery life

Low Signal

One of the biggest battery drains on the iPhone is not the handset itself but a low or weak signal with your mobile carrier, a poor signal is one of the largest battery drains on the iPhone.

If you have a number of apps setup to use your carrier service, then connecting to WiFi whenever possible should help with this problem and stop your handset searching for a signal constantly.

If you are in a poor signal area, you iPhone will constantly search for a new signal, this can be a large battery drain.

If you are in an area with a really bad signal for a while and cannot connect to WiFi, then you can put the handset into Airplane Mode, this will stop your iPhone from constantly searching for a new signal, of course you will not be able to use many features of the handset in Airplane mode.

6. Improve iPhone battery life by turning off Automatic Downloads

Automatic Downloads

Another way to increase the battery life on your iPhone is to turn off automatic downloads when using cellular. This will also save you data on your monthly mobile data plan, as you can set it so that the downloads only happen when you are on WiFi.

You can choose whether you want to turn off automatic downloads for Music, Apps, Books and also updates for apps, it is possible to select the ones you want or turn them all off by turning off the mobile data feature.

This can be done by going to Settings > iTunes & App Store > Use Mobile Data, you can also select individual items including apps, music, updates and books.

7. Save battery life by reducing Auto Lock time

Autolock

When you have finished using your iPhone the handset will automatically turn the screen off after a set amount of time, choosing a lower setting for Auto Lock can help improve battery performance.

I personally use the lowest setting which is 30 seconds, you can choose between 30 seconds and five minutes or choose never which means that you handset will always be on. With the latest iPhone's having a fingerprint scanner, it is easy to unlock your device after it auto locks, so choosing a lower setting is not a problem as it is simple to unlock your device.

This can be adjusted in the settings menu on your iPhone by going to Settings > General > Auto Lock and choosing which time setting suits you.

8. Turn off Location Tracking on your iPhone

Location Tracking

You can turn off location tracking unless you use Apple Maps or Google Maps on a regular basis, this can always be turned back on if you want to use one of those apps, this should help improve the battery life on your handset.

Location Tracking can be turned off on your iPhone by Going to Settings > Privacy > Location Services, you can choose to turn them all off or choose which apps you want to use to share your location

9. Cut down on what apps are using Spotlight Search

Spotlight Search

Spotlight Search is designed to search everything on your iPhone, this includes apps, contacts, your photos and more, you can turn off the ones that you don't need to use the feature with.

This can be done by going to Settings > General > Spotlight Search, you can then turn off apps individually.

10. When your iPhone battery gets low, turn on Low Power Mode to keep it going for longer

Low Power Mode

One of the features in iOS 9 is a new Low Power Mode, this can be turned on when your battery is lower than normal. Low Power Mode on the iPhone is designed to optimize battery life and get the most out of the battery power that you have left.

Turning on Low Power Mode on the iPhone will reduce usage of a number of services, including mail fetch, automatic downloads, background app refresh and also some visual effect, this can be really useful when you have a low battery. You can turn on Low Power Mode on your iPhone by going to Settings > Battery > Low Power Mode.

11. Don't shut down apps, it uses more power to shut them down

Apple's Craig Federighi recently confirmed that shutting down apps on your iPhone will not improve battery life.

Once apps are put into background mode they use no battery power at all, regularly shutting down background applications will actually use more power than if you just leave them open in the background.

12. Turn off Bluetooth and AirDrop if you don't use them

Many people, myself included have Bluetooth and AirDrop turned on even when we are not using these features, if you turn both of these off when not in use then this will give you additional battery life on your iPhone or iPad.

I only use Bluetooth with my hands free kit in the car, so turning this off when I am not in the car has helped increase the battery life of my iPhone. I also rarely use AirDrop, but when I do this can easily be turned back on from the settings menu.

These top handy tips should help you improve the battery life on your iPhone, most of them will work on the majority of versions of iOS with some only working on iOS 9 or above. These are designed to help you get the maximum battery life out of your iPhone.

You can choose to use all of the tips above or just the ones that think will benefit your battery life the most. You can find out some more details on how to increase your handsets battery life over at Apple.

Try out some of the tips on your iPhone and let us know what improvements in battery life performance your get in the comments below.

[HM:258387] Change your life style to save your life

The maintenance of body weight is very important as far as the health fitness is concerned. People who have got abnormal weight are susceptible to diseases very easily. The reason for abnormal body weight is life style. In today's life style men can perform works with out much exertion and for conveyance they can rely on their own vehicles and other alternatives. They have no need to walk to reach their destinations. To make things available just a phone call is sufficient. Then the only thing they have to do is eat and sit simply. This is the reason for abnormal weight in human beings. Over weight is the cause of numerous diseases like Diabetics and Hypertension. If men become prey to these diseases once they cannot escape from their hands till the last minute of their life. They can continue living by taking medicines regularly. The doctors also instruct them to control the diet and body weight.

Hence if people can control their body weight by controlling their diet in advance they can avoid the intake of medicines and thereby they can save financially also. Men can control their body weight by means of exercises, daily walk and diet control. By controlling weight they can always feel as rejuvenated and free of various health problems. By reducing body weight, the excess fat content in the body will be removed considerably. This will enable people to bring cholesterol under desirable level. Cholesterol is the killer factor for causing heart blocks and thereby cardiac arrest. Hence this is a favorable factor for avoiding various heart problems. If the cholesterol level can be brought under control the blood pressure also can be minimized ideally. In this way by reducing excess body weight, all major diseases can be kept away and this will enable men to lead a very comfortable life.

[HM:258386] Self-cleaning Textile that uses light to Clean Itself

The era of the washing machine may soon come to an end, thanks to this self-cleaning textile that uses light to rid itself of dirt and grime.

Same shirt. Different day.

This might have been the mantra of a team of researchers from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia who recently used nanostructures to create a textile that cleans itself when exposed to light.

"There's more work to do to before we can start throwing out our washing machines, but this advance lays a strong foundation for the future development of fully self-cleaning textiles," says Dr Rajesh Ramanathan, co-author of the study published in the March 2016 issue of Advanced Materials Interfaces.

Currently, the team has only successfully built the nanostructures on a small scale, and they are still working on how to permanently attach them to textiles to be used for industrial scale production.

Making the washing machine is safe…for now.

Youtube - Self Cleaning Cloth

How do self-cleaning textiles work?

The Effects of Technology on Our Families and Social Lives

The research team dipped the textiles into a few different solutions of copper and silver-based nanostructures, which are known to absorb visible light. After about 30-minutes, nanostructures grew directly and settled onto the textiles. When light hits the textile, it receives an energy boost and creates "hot electrons." Once these "hot electrons" are activated, they develop the ability to break down organic matter.

In their tests, it took less than six minutes for some of the nano-enhanced textiles to automatically clean themselves.

The world's first technology of human body communication

"The advantage of textiles is they already have a 3D structure so they are great at absorbing light, which in turn speeds up the process of degrading organic matter," says Ramanathan. Aside from scaling up the project, the team is also working on how effective these self-cleaning textiles would be against common stains, such as tomato sauce.

[HM:258385] Urgent OR Important? Learn to Differentiate

Do you really understand the difference between urgent and important? It really matters if you do.

In our day to day life we have so many tasks in our to-do list. Some are smaller, some are bigger, some are highly important and others are least important. Sometimes we prioritize and sometimes we don't but we keep working on these throughout our lives. However I would emphasize that if we prioritize the tasks, our day to day lives can improve dramatically.

As lot of people confuse between urgent and important so here is the basic elaboration of Urgent and Important:

"Important" is something which cannot and should not be ignored at any cost however it may be required to be done right away or it may be required to be done later. On the other hand,  "Urgent" means that a quick action is required to be done as soon as possible.

Sometimes Urgent things are not very Important. For example, turning a running tap off to avoid wastage of water (and save the bills). However there are times when Urgent things are most Important as well, for example, a crying baby in the kitchen due to fire stove. Another example of Urgent is 'executing a task directly coming from the Department director' .

Talking about official scenarios, I have observed professionals not prioritizing things properly, consequently, putting their time and energies in less important and less urgent things. As I always like analytical approach in nearly all fields of life so I would like to emphasize again in this article to analyze the situation and rank the things based on urgency or importance. Once importance and urgencies of tasks are defined it is very easy to scrutinize and make action strategies. A piece of advice while analyzing any given jobs would be to consider the impact on stake holders (managers/departments/customers/field staff/family members etc) if any task is delayed.

Finally I would recommend not to make this practice too complicated. Just think quickly, consult a couple of colleagues/family members if required and plan things swiftly. At the end of the day, we want ease in your lives and not extra stress. Once you have developed good analytical skills, your life will be much more easy; trust me

[HM:258384] Story: The Mosquito and the Elephant

A mosquito saw an elephant crossing a
bridge and asked for a ride. The mosquito
said, "Hello mate! What if I sit on your back
and give you some company as you cross
the bridge?"
 The elephant said nothing.
The mosquito sat on the elephant's back. He felt very proud that he
could persuade the elephant to be a co-rider. As they
were crossing the bridge, the mosquito cried out,
"Watch out brother, two of us are very heavy, make sure the
bridge does not collapse!"
 The elephant said nothing.
As they crossed over through the bridge, the mosquito said,
"See, how I guided you safely through!"
The elephant said nothing.
Finally, the mosquito got off the elephant's
back and buzzed, "Here is my business card. If you need
any help in the future just call me on my cell phone." The
elephant thought that he heard some whisper somewhere.
But he dismissed this as a daydream and
marched on…

Flash-1: You are an elephant with enormous qualities with full control on your life. No matter what you do, people having mosquito-like-attitude will always disrupt you, criticize you, mock you but you need to remember the fact that you are the boss and no one is in-charge of your happiness. So just ignore such people, ignore their criticism and move on with your life.

Flash-2: The elephant is the enormous flow of our life. The mosquito is our restless ego that thrives by sucking life's attention. There is an interior life beyond our ego that is connected to a vast and infinite expanse of awareness. Be aware, be the elephant!

[HM:258383] How to Develop Analytical Skills - 6 Situational Examples

By Junaid Tahir

In our day to day life whether official, personal or social, we have to deal with complications. Some situations are easy to handle with but other are complex which snatch the peace of mind because our brain gets stuck on how best to handle such state of affair. This is where our Analytical Skills help us. The prime purpose for the Analysis of any given situation is to get to know the root cause(s) of the issue, to forecast the impact and to plan corrective/preventive actions strategy. So basically analytical skill is to visualize a given situation, task, project or issue from several angles in order to breakdown it into smaller steps.

Below are different situations where our analytical skills are required. I shall give advises in each category accordingly:

1)    When Summarizing Large Amount of Data in office: In this situation, I highly recommend using Pivot Tables feature of MS Excel in order to generate reports. The Pivot Reports feature allows us playing with the data in several ways to generate multi-dimensional reports. We can breakdown large amount of data in different sheets to apply Pivot Reports separately as well. Youtube is a very good source of videos for learning this skill. Pivot table can also generate reports for Trends and Forecast in two to three dimensions.

2)   When  Resolving Conflicts in Office: In this case, listen to all parties which are having difference of opinion. List down the positive and negative input factors and after-effects based on feedback from individuals. Make it in tabular format and review this with your manager to see which one is the best option to go for. Then call for a meeting to elaborate the overall picture based on your fair analysis and convince personnel for the option which is in the best interest of the company. Read me detailed article here

3)   When Being Assigned a large project: in this case you need to make a high level agenda (High Level Project Deliverables) and then start working on WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) and then assign each task to relevant resource. While making WBS you can have a meeting with your Team Leads and other stake holders. You can consider Fishbone diagram to analyze the inputs of any task.

4)   When Resolving a Technical issue: The advice here is to consult the product guide to see the possible root causes, consult the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for opinion or consult the Lesson Learnt Register. For all kind of issues resolutions, I always recommend two things. First is to take corrective action to fix the issue, Second is to take Preventive Action (fix the root cause permanently) so that the issues do not pop up again. Six Sigma's DMAIC is another recommended way for analyzing and improving. You may want to get Six Sigma documents by dropping me an email at mjunaidtahir-at-gmail-dot-com

5)   When purchasing something: Let us take the example of mobile phone. When you want to purchase a new mobile you need to ask yourself: do I need touch screen, do I need wifi, do I really need to purchase new mobile, what is my budget? do I need 5MP camera, do I need iphone or Android, do I need 4 inch screen or less? What other specs do I need to consider. So Basically you are analyzing your demands to come up with the right mobile which is to be purchased. Read my article on how to buy the best phone here

6)   When handling family conflicts: Being a sensitive subject, this is something where you need much more than analytical skills; For each family member involved in the conflict, you have to have sense of feelings, emotions study, stress absorption power, age factor, relationship level and convincing power so in my opinion this is the most difficult part of practicing your analytical skills. You have to consistently guide everyone about 'forgive and forget' policy. You have to calmly listen to each party and take adequate time to analyze all aspects (as mentioned a couple of lines back) vigilantly before concluding something on the brawl.

Conclusion: Analytical skills can make your life easier in almost all aspects of decision making or problem solving, however, it's not only the matter of considering all the options and the inputs, its matter of considering the weight of each option as well. For example, for a given situation you have two options having equal number of advantages or disadvantages so in order to conclude in such situation you have to consider the weight of each option. While doing your analysis you might want to consider the difference between Urgent and Important things. If that is the case please read my article

Develop and Sharpen your analytical skills to take steps for reducing stress in your life consequently ensuring the peace of mind.

[HM:258382] How Overfocusing on Goals Can Hold Us Back

mar16-17-489008215

Imagine you want to design a robot that can get through a maze by itself. How might you go about it? First, you would probably define the robot's objective: Find the exit of the maze. Then, Imagine, you would create a mechanism to reward the robot for moving toward that goal and to punish it for moving farther away, so that over time it finds its way out. But what if the robot comes to a dead end right next to the exit? It's geographically as close as possible to its objective but it can't get there. And it won't want to turn around because that would mean moving away from the goal and getting punished. Your robot would be stuck.

Kenneth Stanley is a professor in artificial intelligence who has studied this problem, the stagnation that can result from dogged pursuit of a prescribed goal. Eventually he and his colleagues arrived at a simple solution. What if instead of rewarding the robot for getting closer to the maze exit, they rewarded it for trying new and interesting directions? They found that this shift in programming significantly improved the robots' ability to solve mazes — a successful result in 39 out of 40 trials, versus 3 out of 40. Testing objective-less challenges in many other AI contexts, Stanley got similar results. When made to seek novelty, his robots developed surprising and creative solutions to problems they could not previously solve.

Most modern managers take this as a given. Of course goals should be clear; how can you prioritize work or run a company without them? We have corporate and group objectives (quarterly and annual), project objectives, and individual objectives, and we're reviewed and rewarded for meeting them. At a large bureaucratic company, a typical objective for a midlevel manager might look something like, "Ensure optimal support for assigned projects in line with agreed timelines and priorities." This might be followed by 20 project-specific objectives such as, "Ensure high quality and timely delivery of cross-functional alignment plan for printer firmware update." In today's data-driven world, organizations seem to be more focused than ever on metrics that track progress toward such goals; we all want to know whether and how quickly we are moving toward desired results.

But Stanley's work indicates that our objective obsession might be doing more harm than good, causing people, teams, and firms to stagnate over time. And this view is bolstered by statistics on and stories surrounding invention. Reports indicate that half are the result of not direct research but serendipity — that is, people being open to interesting and unexpected results.

Instead of focusing only on their initial goals, and most likely failing to achieve them, the people working on these projects allowed themselves to take detours, in the process creating different breakthrough drugs and technology.

Outside the R&D department it's hard to imagine an organization or an individual leader greenlighting a project with no goal other than to discover something new and interesting. But this is a mindset shift we all need to make. The more time we spend defining and pursing specific objectives, the less likely we are to achieve something great.

[HM:258381] 15 Things to Give Up to be Happy

The following article was written by one of our very own Mindvalley Team members, Dana, and is a piece from the heart. After receiving an astounding 318,000 shares we felt that it was only fair to share this with you so you too can identify the 15 practices, beliefs and habits that may be preventing you from being happy. The article is a little longer than usual but it is seasoned with powerful insights and peppered with inspirational quotes. Enjoy!

Here is a list of 15 things, which, if you give up on them, will make your life a lot easier and you'll feel much, much happier. We hold on to so many things that cause us a great deal of pain, stress and suffering ì and instead of letting them all go and allowing ourselves to be stress-free and happy, we cling on to them.
Well, not anymore. Starting today, we will give up on all those things that no longer serve us, and we will embrace change. Ready? Here we go!

1. Give up your need to always be right. There are so many of us who can't stand the idea of being wrong ! wanting to always be right  even at the risk of ending great relationships or causing a great deal of stress and pain for us and for others. It's just not worth it. Whenever you feel the urgent need to jump into a fight over who is right and who is wrong, ask yourself this question from Dr. Wayne Dyer: Would I rather be right, or would I rather be kind? What difference will that make? Is your ego really that big?

2. Give up your need for control.¬ Be willing to give up your need to always control everything that happens to you and around you situations, events, people, etc. Whether they are loved ones, co-workers, or just strangers you meet on the street just allow them to be. Allow everything and everyone to be just as they are and you will see how much better will that make you feel.
By letting it go, it all gets done. The world is won by those who let it go. But when you try and try. The world is beyond winning.Lao Tzu

3. Give up on blame.¬ Give up on your need to blame others for what you have or don't have, for what you feel or don't feel. Stop giving your powers away and start taking responsibility for your life.

4. Give up your self-defeating self-talk. Oh my. How many people are hurting themselves because of their negative, polluted and repetitive self-defeating mindset? Don't believe everything that your mind is telling you ì especially if it's negative and self-defeating. You are better than that.
The mind is a superb instrument if used rightly. Used wrongly, however, it becomes very destructive.- Eckhart Tolle

5. Give up your limiting beliefs¬ about what you can or cannot do, about what is possible or impossible. From now on, you are no longer going to allow your limiting beliefs to keep you stuck in the wrong place. Spread your wings and fly!
A belief is not an idea held by the mind, it is an idea that holds the mind.- Elly Roselle

6. Give up complaining.¬ Give up your constant need to complain about those many, many, maaany things  people, situations and events that make you unhappy, sad and depressed. Nobody can make you unhappy, no situation can make you sad or miserable unless you allow it to. It's not the situation that triggers those feelings in you, but how you choose to look at it. Never underestimate the power of positive thinking.

7. Give up the luxury of criticism. Give up your need to criticize things, events or people that are different than you. We are all different, yet we are all the same. We all want to be happy, we all want to love and be loved and we all want to be understood. We all want something, and something is wished by us all.

8. Give up your need to impress others.¬ Stop trying so hard to be something that you're not just to make others like you. It doesn't work this way. The moment you stop trying so hard to be something that you're not, the moment you take of all your masks, the moment you accept and embrace the real you, you will find people will be drawn to you, effortlessly.

9. Give up your resistance to change.¬ Change is good. Change will help you move from A to B. Change will help you make improvements in your life and also the lives of those around you. Follow your bliss, embrace change ì don't resist it.
úFollow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you where there were only walls.ù¬ Joseph Campbell

10. Give up labels.¬ Stop labeling the things, people or events that you don't understand as being weird or different and try opening your mind, little by little. Minds only work when open. The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don't know anything about.¬ Dr. Wayne Dyer

11. Give up on your fears.¬ Fear is just an illusion, it doesn't exist - you created it. It's all in your mind. Correct the inside and the outside will fall into place.
The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.¬ Franklin D. Roosevelt

12. Give up your excuses.¬ . A lot of times we limit ourselves because of the many excuses we use. Instead of growing and working on improving ourselves and our lives, we get stuck and lie to ourselves, using all kind of excuses ì excuses that 99.9% of the time, are not even real.

13. Give up the past.¬ I know, I know. This one's hard. Especially when the past looks so much better than the present and the future looks so frightening. But, you have to take into consideration the fact that the present moment is all you have and all you will ever have. The past you are now longing for ì the past that you are now dreaming about ì was ignored by you when it was present. Stop deluding yourself. Be present in everything you do and enjoy life. After all, life is a journey not a destination. Have a clear vision for the future, prepare yourself, but always be present in the now.

14. Give up attachment.¬ This is a concept that, for most of us, is so hard to grasp and I have to tell you that it was for me too (it still is), but it's not impossible. You get better and better at it with time and practice. The moment you detach yourself from all things (and that doesn't mean you give up your love for them  because love and attachment have nothing to do with one another. Attachment comes from a place of fear, while love well, real love is pure, kind, and selfless; where there is love there can't be fear, and because of that, attachment and love cannot co-exist; you become so peaceful, so tolerant, so kind, and so serene. You will get to a place where you will be able to understand all things without even trying. A state beyond words

15. Give up living your life to other people's expectations.¬ Way too many people are living a life that is not theirs to live. They live their lives according to what others think is best for them; they live their lives according to what their parents think is best for them; to what their friends, their enemies and their teachers, their government and the media think is best for them. They ignore their inner voice, that inner calling. They are so busy with pleasing everybody, with living up to other people's expectations, that they lose control over their lives. They forget what makes them happy, what they want, what they need and eventually, they forget about themselves.¬ You have one life ì this one right now ì you must live it, own it, and especially don't let other people's opinions distract you from your path.
