Yine de yetmez bu güzellikleri anlatmaya hiçbir edebi kelâm.
Önünde yaşayan bir tarih, sancağı dikmiş bakıyor Ulubatlı Hasan,
Dibinde boynu bükük mezar taşları, altında ise yüzlerce yatan...
Yanından sokulur alaturka nağmelerin yankılandığı o güzel yol Aşiyan,
Misk-i amber gibidir etrafta koku salan, boğaz çiçeği erguvan.
Aziz şehir, güzel siluetin karşısında büyülenir her bir kul;
Tılsımınla yakarsın, vazgeçemez kimse senden, etmez başka şehri kabul!
Endamın yekparedir, evrenin prensesisin, sensiz kalır dünya dul.
Aşıkların aşkısın, canların cananısın, şehr-i hayal İstanbul!
